MUET (Malaysian University English Test) is examination which measures the ability to use and understand English as it is spoken, written and heard in colleges/university campuses. MUET is created for Malaysia public universities enrolment needs. This examination tests learners’ ability to communicate in an academic setting and their readiness for academic coursework.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is one of the most widely accepted English-language tests in the world, recognised by colleges and universities worldwide. HLC’s TOEFL preparatory course consists of two months, i.e. TOEFL Workshop 1 and 2. In order to undertake the course, students are required to undertake an exam to indicate their level of proficiency in English. Upon entry into the course students will need to attend classes five (5) days a week and attendance is mandatory in order to undertake exams.

These preparatory courses help learners to develop the skills needed to get a good score in the examinations. A 76-hour monthly workshop coaches them on the four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). In these workshops the students will go through the examination structure, format, time management for every test section and conducting trial examinations based on past examination questions.

Currently HLC’s MUET and TOEFL preparatory workshops are only available upon request.
